The Emperor stole the crown

The Emperor stole the crown during the first day of Fashion Forward Season 2. Timeless elegance with a modern twist, rich fabrics (think The Silk Route) and a little influence from Moschino’s Fall 2013 men’s collection best describe The style of the Emperor’s clothes.

The large crowds of fashionistas were visibly very excited. They lined up in front of the ballroom doors half hour in advance to see the fashion show, which was a little hurried up due to a slight delay. A few VPs were visibly disappointed as they arrived in the last moment and could not find space on the front rows.

Found in 2007 by three brothers, The Emperor 1688 is a luxury menswear brand worn by top celebrities, royalties and athletes around the world. British/Iranian designers, now based in Dubai, Babak Golkar, Haman Golkar, and Farhan Golkar have studied their craft in some of the best fashion colleges in the world, The London College of Fashion, Central Saint Martins College in London, and The Chelsea College of Art, respectively. In 2011, their brand won the prestigious Esquire Designer of the Year Award and in 2012, it was also nominated. The exclusive quality of their menswear is ensured by using the finest fibers and fabrics from mills in Italy, Switzerland and England. The brothers are showing their Spring/Summer 2014 collection at Fashion Forward which stands out with the great use of light, exquisite tailoring and timeless cuts. The main inspiration has come from the classic novel Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh, set in the 1930’s. So, the hues, designs and cuts mainly reflect that era in fusion with modern attitude and true elegance.
