UAE’s emerging talent outshone fashion designers during day 2 of Fashion Forward

Next on the catwalk we are welcoming the creations of Sheikha Madiyah Al Sharqi of Fujairah, the daughter of the Ruler of Fujairah, HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammad Al Sharqi. She is presenting her collection of edgy, trendy women’s wear, which looks as a far cry from the Middle East traditional looks. The young designer launched her own label after graduating from the prestigious French Fashion University, Esmod and getting an internship at Lebanese designer Abed Mahfouz.

The collection definitely follows top international fashion trends when it comes to colors, fabrics and designs. The only question is from which season, because it looks more os a Spring/Summer than Fall/Winter.

Hues of pastel colors are combined with silver lace. The looks of these clothes give a breezy feeling, lightness, effortless elegance, class – like the clothes of a young woman brought up in an old money family.

It is not a surprise that the editors of Harper’s Arabia and Arabia.style.com both wear Sheikha Madiyah’s creations today.

The designs are modern, but classy with lots of asymmetry and contrast. The cut and the finishing of the clothes looks like the one you can see on the ready-to-wear runways in Milano and Paris.

Moreover, Sheikha Madiyah’s clothes are very much wearable. We can easily imagine them hanging at Bloomingdale’s, Saks or Harvey Nichols.
